Brassica and the Wild Sprouts is a homegrown whimsical party brass band from Pittsburgh, PA. We play raucous dance music woven with invented folklore, drawing on Balkan, improvisation, and street band vibes; we invite audience participation in our storytelling, and need no stage or amplification for our performance.
Our bandmates are friends first, and we're motivated to work hard towards playing tight and supporting each others' growth. We protest existing structures of hierarchy and oppression through how we make decisions and distribute resources, and we prioritize performance opportunities that align with those goals.
